This page explains what happens to your data when you read opentools.dev. The controller is BlitzWorks UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Graßer Weg 73, 93053 Regensburg, Germany, hallo@blitzworks.io (see the imprint).
What we do not do
You do not need an account, and there is no form that asks for your details. We do not sell data. The fonts and app icons are served from our own site, so reading a page does not contact a font or icon service.
Hosting
The site is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. as our processor. To deliver a page, Cloudflare processes your IP address and the request (address, time, browser) and keeps short-lived logs for security and to stop attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a site that loads and stays online (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Visitor statistics
We count visits with the open-source software Matomo, which we run ourselves on our servers in Germany. No data goes to the makers of Matomo or to anyone else. It works without cookies and without access to your device, stores the IP address only shortened (the last two blocks are removed first), and does not build profiles across sites. We see which pages are read, which links are followed and roughly where visitors come from. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing which pages help people (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Advertising
Some articles and comparison pages show ads from Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Ad code only loads after the page has appeared, and it starts with every kind of storage and personalisation switched off (Google Consent Mode). Where the law requires your consent, a consent message asks for it before Google may use cookies or similar technology for personalised ads; without consent, Google may still show non-personalised ads and use the data it needs for that, such as preventing fraud. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG) or, for non-personalised ads, our legitimate interest in financing the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Google may process data in the US; it is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can change your choice at any time through the consent message's settings link, and manage Google's ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
Links to other sites
opentools.dev links to project websites, source code and hosting providers. Some links carry a campaign marker in the address (utm_source=opentools), so the receiving site can see that the visit came from here. What happens on those sites is covered by their own privacy policies.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to your data (Art. 15 GDPR), correction (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). Write to hallo@blitzworks.io. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for us the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach.
